What is a trapped piece?

A trapped piece has no safe square left. The winning method surrounds it or attacks it with a cheaper unit, then harvests it because escape is impossible.

How to spot it

Pieces on the rim, deep in enemy territory or blocked by their own pawns are trap candidates. Count the piece’s legal moves — when the answer is near zero, hunt it.

What this set trains

These puzzles develop mobility awareness: valuing squares and escape routes, not just material.
