About Chess Puzzle Print

Chess Puzzle Print is a free collection of chess puzzles, chess tools and printable worksheets. It is for players, parents, teachers and club organisers who want something that works straight away, without an account.

What you will find here

• Chess tools: PGN and FEN converters, an Elo and a FIDE rating calculator, tournament pairings and tie-breaks, a chess clock, an opening finder, a board editor and printable generators (worksheets, scoresheets, diagrams, certificates).
• Play: a puzzle trainer, a game against the computer, a coordinates trainer and the knight’s tour.
• Puzzles by theme and by difficulty, with a daily puzzle.

How the content is made

• Tools run in your browser. Moves, positions, game files and ratings you enter are processed on your own device and are not sent to us. See the privacy policy for the few things the site does store.
• Puzzles come from real rated games, from public-domain (CC0) puzzle data. Every solution shown is the line stored with the puzzle; every position and move is replayed with a chess rules engine before it is published, so an answer key never contains an illegal move.
• Rating and tournament tools follow published rules. The FIDE rating, performance rating, tie-break and round-robin tools implement the FIDE regulations named on each tool page.
• Reference text is excerpted from open sources, not invented. Background articles and glossary definitions come from Wikipedia, Wikibooks and Wiktionary under CC BY-SA, with a link to each original.
• Open-source code and data are listed on the credits page, with their licences.

If you find a mistake, please tell us through the contact page. A wrong solution or a tool that gives an unexpected result are the most useful reports.

Advertising

The site is free to use. We may show advertising in future to pay for hosting and development. If we do, ads will be labelled “Advertisement”, will never appear inside a printable worksheet or on top of a tool, and are described in the privacy policy.
